Scholarship Opportunity for STEM-Inspired High School Students
NOBCChE is pleased to announce a partnership with the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) to provide a new scholarship aimed at increasing the diversity of the STEM workforce.
The SLAS - NOBCChE Scholarship, with funding from Pfizer and Amgen, is intended to support U.S.-based high school students of color, who are often underrepresented in the STEM fields, through their post-secondary studies. The scholarship will assist in developing their interest and understanding of science through extensive mentorship, networking and early career opportunities as well as access to diverse academic and industry role models.
The SLAS - NOBCChE Scholarship application process consists of a first-tier that involves the development of a research project from which Finalists are selected in June. In the second-tier, each finalist’s research project proposal is expanded through partnership with a mentor. Winners from the second-tier will be chosen and announced in September 2022. Two winners will each receive $50,000 toward their undergraduate STEM-focused education, ongoing mentorship, and full expenses covered to attend and present their research at both NOBCChE and SLAS annual conferences. The deadline to apply is March 31.
